Our Goal
We are developing techniques for Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality world creation. The challenge is to capture the human imagination and turn it into a 3D world, to make whatever our imaginations can conjure, in seconds.
Our goal is to teach these digital techniques to all people, of any age and at any skill level. To be truly welcoming, encouraging people to come and create together.
What is Digital Dojo?
Pair Training Inspired from Aikido
Uke role is to describe their imagination, and their digital reality is meant to purely reflect what they are describing.
Nage role is to recieve a stream of options by AI generators; imagery, sounds, or technical components like physics, logic, configuration changes. Nage select and apply from a generated palette, which helps steer the AI generation process.
Together the Uke and Nage work together; Uke focusing on illustrating their inner vision, and Nage helping to bring that vision to life.
Separating the roles allows for a newcomer to get oriented and learn from a more senior person. This is also a perfect arrangement to apply machine learning.
Network Effect
Collaboration at a Distance • Experts on Demand
The digital collaboration space is meant to encourage bringing people together of different skills, even when they are a long distance from each other. By keeping a record of rank and fields of expertise, it will become possible for people of different skillsets to come together as needed.
By working together in a digital space with an asymmetric representation, it is possible to expand the complexity of the creation process.
The creative process could be realtime or session-by-session, with notification of revision brought back up to the attention of the original uke. So, if necessary the uke could go offline, and nage switches into an uke role to work through parts of the design process with other experts.
For example uke wants to build a dream home, then the nage could be an architect, who initially works together with uke to define the main features of the home. The architect would be able to pull in supporting engineering, plumbing, electrical, and interior designers on demand to support the more technical aspects of the home design process. If working realtime together, then these experts would act equivalently like the AI generators, taking the design and applying their expertise, and present options to the architect uke.
Deep Learning
Generative AI for Accelerated Design
Generative AI models are able to fill in details far faster than conventional tools. For example, drawing a rough outline of an oak tree can bring up associated imagery of a surrounding forest, sounds of wind rustling through the oak tree branches, sunny skybox, and sun illumination model. To accomplish this in seconds by conventional methods is not possible.
Skill Rankings
Easy for Beginners • Unlimited Richness for Experts
Often people will have wildly varying skill levels and skill sets. On the whole, the ability of Nage to construct imagination is a combination of time invested with each rank, and specific skill to fluently capture and call up a variety of resources and streamline the creative process for Uke.
And as Uke the student learns how to translate the imagined realities in their own minds into descriptions and gestures, more fully and precisely.
Recognizing each other's relative rank and skillset helps with quickly deciding mentorship roles in training.
